  • Parking available in multi-storey car parks at EastPoint.

  • All participants who are driving must arrive before 09:00 due to road closures.

  • Easy access by DART (Clontarf Station, 15-min walk), Dublin Bus (Route N4), or by bike (covered parking available).

  • Carpooling & public transport encouraged.

Route Information

This is one of Dublin’s most scenic and iconic road races. From the start at EastPoint Business Park, the route carries you along Clontarf Promenade, across to Bull Island, and back, exposing runners to wide coastal views, sea breeze, and Dublin Bay’s natural beauty.

The course is an out and back course, built for steady pacing, scenic enjoyment, and a strong finish. Whether you’re running solo or as part of a group, it’s a route that showcases Dublin’s coastline and rewards your effort with sweeping views at every turn.

FAQs

Are there showers or changing facilities? 

No — showers and changing facilities are not provided.

Do I have to wear the race t-shirt?

No — wearing the official t-shirt is optional.

Can I wear headphones?

Yes, headphones are permitted. However, participants are responsible for remaining aware of marshals, Gardaí, pedestrians, and other runners at all times. Please keep the volume low enough to hear instructions.

Are there toilets on the route?

Yes — toilets are available at the start/finish area and along the route at approx. 4km, 8.5km, 14km and 17.5km.

Where are the water stations?

There are water stations at : 4.3km, 8.5km, 14km, 17.5k.

Are water stations bottles or cups?

Cups of water are provided at each water station.

Can I walk the race? 

We welcome all abilities and we encourage everyone to take the event at their own pace. Please just be aware that there is a strict cut-off time of 3 hours and 30 minutes, so you’ll need to keep a pace that sees you finish within that window.

Is there a time limit?

Yes — the Half Marathon has a cut-off time of 3 hours 30 minutes.

Is there a medal and t-shirt?

Yes — every finisher receives a medal, and bespoke event t-shirt.

My t-shirt doesn’t fit, can I swap size? 

Yes — your t shirt can be swapped after the event when everyone has collected if stocks allow.

Is there somewhere to leave my bag?

Yes — a secure bag drop is located beside the start/finish chute and opens at 8:00am. One small bag per participant only.

Unbagged items like keys or phones cannot be accepted.

You will need your race number to retrieve your bag after the race, so ensure your race number is securely pinned to you. If no race number is presented, you will have to wait until all other bags have been reclaimed, to collect your bag! Bag drop will be supervised; however, management cannot accept any responsibility for lost or stolen items.    

Is there parking?

Yes — parking is available in EastPoint’s multi-storey car park and Molloy & Sherry car park. Please arrive before 9:00am and follow marshal directions.

When will I get my race number? 

All Irish-based entries who signed up before the postal cut-off of 14th June will receive their number in the post a week before the event. Anyone who signed up after this will have to collect their number. Overseas and incomplete addresses must collect their race number.

Why haven’t I got my race number when others have?

Numbers are dispatched in batches. If yours hasn’t arrived, collect at the Help Desk before the race.

I’m visiting from abroad, how do I get my number?

Your number will be held for you collect at one of the number collection sessions.

I ordered a t-shirt, when will I get it?

Race numbers are either posted with your number or to be collected on the night depending on when you signed up. If you ordered additional Bear Races Running apparel this is posted out separately.

Can I drop to a shorter distance? 

There is no shorter distance for this event.

I can’t run anymore, can my friend take my place?

Only if an official name change request was made before numbers were allocated. This was allowed up until 14th of June.

I can’t run anymore, can I get a refund? 

No, refunds are not available.

Can my kids run the last part with me? 

No unfortunately due to health and safety we request you do not complete the event with your child

What are the age restrictions?

We follow Athletic Ireland’s legislation

When is the Race Brief sent out?

The race brief is sent out one week before the event and then again the day before the event. If you haven’t received the email make sure and check your spam.

When/Where do I get my results?

Results can be found on our website under the results section after the event. Timing services supplied by www.myrunresults.com

When/Where can I get event photos?

Event photos are sent out via email on the Monday after the event. If you haven’t received your email make sure to check spam.
