Event Overview

EcoTrail Wicklow brings together thousands of runners from Ireland and across the world for a truly international trail-running experience. With distances ranging from 10K to 80K, runners of all levels can take on a challenge that suits them — whether it’s your first trail race or a serious ultra-distance test. All races start and finish along the vibrant Bray Seafront, creating a festival-like atmosphere with cheering crowds, ocean views, and post-race celebrations.

Route Information

EcoTrail Wicklow routes showcase the very best of Ireland’s “Garden County,” taking runners across a breathtaking mix of coastal paths, forest trails, mountain climbs, and historic estates.

All distances begin beside the sea before climbing up the iconic Bray Head, where sweeping views of the Irish Sea give way to wild mountain terrain

Each course is designed to combine challenge with scenery — featuring climbs, flowing trails, and panoramic viewpoints that make every kilometre memorable.

 

Course Highlights by Distance

10K
Accessible trail race with ~85% off-road terrain and reduced road running, making it an ideal introduction to trail running.

19K
A highlight-filled route featuring Bray Head climbs, Kilruddery Estate trails, and a loop around the Little Sugarloaf.

30K
A challenging mountain route including the Sugarloaf peaks and scenic forest trails, with significant elevation gain.

46K
Technical mixed terrain with major climbs and views across the Wicklow Mountains and coastline.

80K Ultra
The ultimate test — nearly 80km with over 2600m elevation gain, traversing mountains, forests, and national park landscape
