Taking place on the beautiful grounds of the University of Limerick, this event is designed to encourage healthy habits, outdoor activity, and joyful participation in a safe and supportive environment.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for children of all ages to engage in physical activity while enjoying the camaraderie of their peers. It’s not just about the race; it’s about inspiring a lifelong love for fitness and community involvement.
We can’t wait to welcome you to the UL Arena for a day filled with energy, enthusiasm, and running! Let’s make the Kids Fun Run 2026 a memorable event for every participant and their families.
The Kid’s Fun Run is proudly held in association with Limerick City & County Council and supports our charity partner, Children’s Grief Centre, providing support for school aged children and young people affected by loss through death, separation, or divorce.
Parents, guardians, and minders are encouraged to join in the fun for the first two runs, supporting their little athletes every step of the way.
Every runner receives a medal to celebrate their achievement, a token of their hard work and dedication.
Refreshments: Water stations will be available on-site to keep everyone hydrated.
Every Bear Races event is designed to deliver a professional, enjoyable, and rewarding experience from start to finish.

The event takes place on the University of Limerick Sports Grounds, starting at Maguire Pitches and finishing on the UL Sports Track.
University of Limerick
We ask ask all parents to hold on their kids bags.
There is no cut-off time.
2:30PM: Wheelchair Event on track. We kick off the races with an inclusive event for our wheelchair participants.
3:00PM: Junior & Senior Infants 1KM route. The youngest runners take on a kilometre of fun & excitement.
3:45PM: First, Second & Third Class 1.5KM route. School-aged children step up to the challenge in this engaging race.
4:30PM: Fourth, Fifth & Sixth Class 2KM route. Our oldest participants test their endurance in a 2-kilometre dash.
If you selected postage when you placed your order, your race number will be posted to you.
If you didn’t add postage, you can collect your race pack at UL Arena during the collection window below. If your pack hasn’t arrived by event day, please come to UL Arena to collect it then as well.

Our Kids Fun Run features a series of age-appropriate routes throughout the day, so every child can take on a safe, achievable challenge that still feels exciting and rewarding. Each route is designed to build confidence, keep things fun, and let every participant enjoy their moment.
The courses wind through the University of Limerick sports grounds, taking in the pitches before finishing in style with a grandstand run-in on the UL Sports Track—a proper race-day finish line experience for every young runner.

We encourage a parent/older sibling/ minder to run with children from junior infants, senior infants, 1st Class and 2nd Class. Children from 3rd-6th Class will run by themselves.
